About Your Instructor: Elliot YJ You is a professional dancer who was born in Columbus, Ohio and raised in North Carolina. Elliot had an interest in dance at a very young age, but did not start dancing until he joined a collegiate dance crew (Fusion Dance Crew) at North Carolina State University. He started his training by attending workshops and intensives across various cities in North Carolina, and soon started traveling out of the state to further his training. Elliot has trained in many different styles including hip-hop, house, popping, locking, contemporary, jazz, Bollywood, Bhangra, social dance, tap, and more.
Elliot got his first taste of the industry in 2017 when he booked his first movie with Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish. He got signed to his first agency following the movie and moved to Atlanta, Georgia to dance full-time after graduating. Since entering the professional industry of dance, he has been blessed with opportunities to work with artists such as Ne-Yo, Kanye West, Keke Palmer, Toni Braxton, Kodak Black, DaBaby, Travis Scott, and brands such as Instagram, Walmart, Adidas, Verizon, Publix, Lego, Hooters, Michelob Ultra, Chase bank, Meow Wolf, Redbubble and more. Elliot’s passion for dance is something that cannot be explained and he hopes to inspire and empower people around the world using his gifts.
